What's the difference between Starter and Studio?

Last updated: 7/9/2026

Starter and Studio are the two self-serve paid tiers. Studio includes higher limits and more coins than Starter.

Starter vs Studio

Both support monthly and annual billing and subscription coin allowances. Studio typically includes more coins, team features, and higher quality limits — exact values are in price_book and plan_feature admin rows.

How to compare

Pricing >>> Compare All Features table

Prerequisites: None.

Step 1. Open comparison

  • On /pricing scroll to Compare All Features.

  • Columns: Free, Starter, Studio, Enterprise.

Step 2. Check coins

  • Cards show 🪙 {count} coins per month/year from live API.

  • VERIFY IN APP: exact coin counts and feature rows.

Step 3. Upgrade path

  • Valid upgrade: STARTER → STUDIO (and to Enterprise via sales).

  • Downgrades are not supported in-app.

Key points to consider

  • pricing.json marketing bullets (e.g. 25 vs 160 coins) may not match live priceBook — use API-driven cards.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming you can downgrade from Studio to Starter in-app — downgrades are blocked.

Compare Starter and Studio on /pricing Compare All Features; Studio is the higher tier.
