Is it safe to save my card for subscription renewals?

Yes. Subscriptions use Stripe save_default_payment_method on_subscription for renewals — standard Stripe practice.
Saved cards for renewals
First successful subscribe saves default PM in Stripe. Renewals charge automatically. Billing tab shows masked card only.
How saving works
Subscribe >>> default payment method >>> renewals
Prerequisites: New subscription.
Step 1. On subscribe
Terms: authorise charges until you cancel.
Stripe stores tokenized payment method.
Step 2. Manage
View on Billing → Payment Methods.
Cancel subscription to stop future charges.
Key points to consider
You can cancel at period end anytime.
