Should You Include Social Media Posts in a CRE Photography Package?

Business strategy

You want commercial work. Your idea: bundle premade Facebook and Instagram posts—“new listing” templates with property info—into the photo package. Down south, many agents barely use social. Will commercial brokers actually care?

Thread consensus: treat social templates as secondary for CRE. Brokers are a different animal from residential agents. Test posts as a bonus first, watch whether anyone uses them, and only then consider a paid add-on.

Why CRE may shrug at Instagram kits

A lot of commercial brokers genuinely do not care about Instagram the way residential agents do. Those who do often already have a marketing coordinator handling brand and posts. Handing them another template may never leave their downloads folder.

Test before you monetize

The idea is not automatically bad—it is unproven until someone posts. Offer a free sample with a few jobs, track usage, and build only if brokers ask for more. Selling an add-on nobody opens wastes energy you could put into media they do buy.

Where your energy pays better

In CRE, floor plans, aerials, and video walkthroughs for large spaces usually differentiate you faster than social graphics. Put package design there first; keep premade posts optional and lightweight.

When social content can still help

If your own social media game is strong—and you already know local brokers who self-promote—templates can grease the relationship. Without that, you risk becoming an unpaid social media manager for people who will not post.

Quick reference

• CRE brokers often undervalue Instagram vs residential agents.

• Marketing coordinators may already own social.

• Test premade posts as a bonus before charging.

• Prioritize floor plans, aerials, and walkthrough video for CRE.

• Strong personal social chops help; weak ones do not sell the add-on.

Do not bet your CRE launch on Facebook carousels. Prove demand with a free trial, then charge—or drop the idea and sell the media commercial clients already recognize.
